At Quickplay, we encourage diverse perspectives and creative ideas as we ultimately believe this delivers better solutions for our customers.
And there is research that backs this up. According to a recent CIO article, inclusive teams are 87% more likely to make better decisions, and ethnically diverse companies are 35% more likely to have above-average financial returns.
We’re as passionate about advancing diversity as we are about advancing the science of OTT. This is why we wanted to create a space within tech conferences – notoriously some of the least diverse environments – to encourage inclusivity and conversations. Last year, we co-hosted the first-ever LGBTQ+ Ally-dedicated CES gathering. Over 100 people joined us, sharing their stories and experiences. We then took that event on the road to the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show and the IBC Changemakers Panel.
Our out-of-the-box thinking – in tech AND diversity – is turning heads across the industry. Just days after announcing that Quickplay had experienced a record-breaking year in 2023, we hosted with LGBT Tech more than 100 people for the second annual LGBTQ+ Ally Meet Up at CES 2024. It was productive and inspiring. I can tell you some of the conversations I had at the event will lead to new ideas and partnerships – new opportunities for consumers and tech and media organizations as a whole.
I left CES feeling energized and excited for the year, thanks to our countless conversations with peers, customers, and partners. We ended 2023 with a bang and are already kicking 2024 off strong:
- Despite 2023’s challenging economic environment, our superior architecture and team drove massive change that accelerated streaming for some of the industry’s greatest brands like MSG Networks’ MSG+, YES Network, Rogers Sports & Media’s Sportsnet SN NOW, PLDT Smart, Cignal TV, Pilipinas Live, aha, and others.
- We joined forces with Google Cloud Partners to help vault OTT to the future with seamless integrations with AI marketplaces and unlock AI-powered consumer engagement, satisfaction, and monetization.
- Our advanced OTT platform is elevating the next generation of media. Our announcement that we are revolutionizing Cogeco Media’s radio offerings for 5 million monthly users is just the tip of our 2024 news cycle as we roll out new customers based on 2023 wins.
- After capturing awards around the world throughout 2023 – including APB+ honors with aha and Cignal TV, CSI Awards with YES Network and for our Dynamic Ad Insertion leadership, and of course our second straight Google Cloud Industry Solution Technology Partner of the Year Award – we began the new year in a big way. Our Dynamic Ad Insertion system took home the Bronze Digital Media World Award and Parks Associates listed us as a Top Company in Video and Entertainment for our commitment to expanding and strengthening the industry. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
