AMSTERDAM (IBC2026, Stand 5.G86) September 11, 2026 – Quickplay, the Content to Value Operating System for media and entertainment, is extending its leadership position as the partner-of-choice for platform transformation. Building on its successful customer momentum, Quickplay will showcase its latest portfolio enhancements at IBC 2026 along with new insights from a new Caretta Research study, conducted in partnership with Quickplay.
Debuting at IBC is Live Operations, a centralized control plane for live broadcast and OTT channels, Quickplay is also introducing its Engagement Quality Score (EQS), a real-time intelligence layer that quantifies the value of every asset and moment. Together, the announcements highlight the key benefits of its Content to Value Operating System: AI-enriched orchestration that provides more operational control for live broadcast workflows; the ability to identify and score the content most likely to acquire, engage and retain audiences; and how the application of those capabilities at scale creates stronger consumer experiences and new revenue opportunities for broadcasters.
The technology innovations speak to an industry at a crossroads: a new whitepaper by Caretta Research, based on interviews with ten technology leaders across European and ANZ broadcasters, finds that third party video platforms are now essential to reach key audiences, while legacy broadcast workflows lack the speed, automation and flexibility broadcasters need to serve them effectively at scale.
“AI produces isolated efficiencies when it is bolted onto individual steps. It produces compounding value when it can understand content, direct operations and trigger action across the full system,” said Paul Pastor, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer at Quickplay. “At IBC, we’re showing that model in live operations, where decisions must happen in real time, and in catalog intelligence that tells operators what to promote and where. This is AI working within an operating system, it’s not another point solution.”
Live Operations: AI orchestration for live broadcast, from signal to clip
Live Operations addresses a common problem for broadcasters, news organizations, and sports rights holders: managing live channels across disconnected tools that slow response when something breaks on air. It gives broadcast and streaming operators command of scheduling, signal control, ad decisioning, clip production, and monitoring from a single console. It’s AI-enriched orchestration eliminates disconnected systems in the live workflow chain, helping prevent dead air, missed SCTE cues or failed signals for uninterrupted live broadcasting.
Engagement Quality Score: a real-time measure of content value
Quickplay’s new EQS enables streaming platforms and media companies to unlock greater engagement and additional revenue from their existing catalogs by better understanding the specific value of each asset or moment, and what is driving or not driving engagement. It powers hyper-customized curation by using content scores to directly inform smart personalization, and row and rail placements. EQS reveals
hidden gems and ensures that mismatched, low-performing content is redirected to the right audiences on the right platforms at the right time by assigning every asset and moment in a catalog a real-time, quantifiable value score.
Caretta Research: from prime time to screen time
In a new study conducted independently by Caretta Research and made possible by Quickplay, broadcasters said they recognize that they can no longer treat third-party video platforms simply as promotional funnels back to their own services. To reach younger and underserved audiences, they increasingly need to treat those platforms as destination platforms in their own right, and they must ensure their operation can publish, measure and monetize content across linear, owned streaming and third-party platforms.
The research identifies modular cloud-native architecture, platform-agnostic technology, orchestration, real-time performance tracking and flexible monetization as core components of a future-proofed broadcaster’s infrastructure. AI is being used primarily to automate repetitive work and increase the output of expert teams rather than replace them; one technical architect at a Western European public-service broadcaster said AI allowed 2-3 people to do work that previously required 10-15. But importantly, no broadcaster interviewed plans to reduce headcount because of AI, reinforcing the clear importance of humans’ roles.
